Introducing A.J. Jordan: Meet A.J. Jordan, an aspiring entrepreneur, entertainer and graphic design artist from Buffalo. Jordan was recently named Artvoice’s Best Hip Hop Act of 2012. His new album, Sentimental Situations, was released in April and features Grammy Award-winning hip-hop emcee Whitney Peyton from Philadelphia, as well as Billboard-charting Koshir from Montana and Utica’s B-Cide.
Jordan has performed at over 100 concert venues across the East Coast and Midwest, including the Insane Clown Posse’s 12th Annual Gathering Of The Juggalos in August 2011 at Cave-In Rock, Ill. alongside national celebrities such as Charlie Sheen, Tech N9ne, Ice Cube, Flavor Flav, Bobby Brown and many more. Jordan will be returning to the festival again this year to perform as a supporting act alongside DMX, Danny Brown, Geto Boys and Cheech & Chong, among others.

Pay attention to Dolla Bills: Born and raised in Buffalo and currently living in Hartford, Conn., rapper Dolla Bills has linked up with his childhood friend Tre Deviocy and Connecticut native Chrome to form the group now known as I.N.S. The trio has created a huge buzz in the music industry after connecting with industry greats such as Whoo Kid and Cutmaster C for their last series of mixtapes. Dolla Bills—who also goes by D Bills and Pakastan Bills—made his solo debut with his mixtape I Deserve to Be Heard hosted by DJ Big Mike. He continues to tour and perfect his craft. Dolla Bills has some projects in the works that will definitely be worth the wait! To hear more, check out D Bills’ MySpace page.
Checking In—Summer Jam 2K12: You know that Summer Jam 2K12 was one of the most anticipated events of the season! The crowd never stopped moving as Jada Kiss, Cashout, Gucci Mane and Future performed their latest hits and some music that had yet to be heard! Summer Jam also showed love to local artists such as the young ladies of Overdose, local artist D-Black and the group known as Lather Gang all performed as openers for the headliners. You can see some of my photos at Flickr.
