Superstitious or not, Friday the 13th has always been viewed as a peculiar date.
But what exactly are some myths about the day? We did a little investigating and found great examples.
The Devil’s Dozen
The number 13 has been described as unlucky for centuries. Some even believe that people could at one point only count as high as 12, on their ten fingers and two feet. So 13 was viewed as something beyond and unfamiliar. Then again, it seems to be working out pretty well for Taylor Swift. The country singer has flaunted 13 as her lucky number, and she couldn’t be more successful.
Here is a short history of the infamous date, from an NBC affiliate in Wisconsin.
Then of course, are the infamous movies who have scared people silly. Take a look at the original and re-make of “Friday the 13th.”
Whatever your views are on the mysterious day, try to take it with a grain of salt. Just make sure to make your bed left-to-right in the morning—otherwise it’s unlucky.
