Back to Buffalo 4

blog by Kathryn Przybyla  •

These dancers’ careers started in Buffalo and now they’ll return to their roots.

Back to Buffalo 4, a UB Dance alumni all-star concert will take place at 7:30 p.m. on this Saturday at the Drama Theatre inside the UB Center fo the Arts. Following well-received performances for the last three years, an eclectic group of accomplished alumni will return to the stage.

According to the CFA,

The Center’s Dance Residency Outreach Program brings professional dance companies into area schools for workshops, demonstrations and performances. Since 1997, more than a dozen professional visiting artists have provided more than 20,000 students with free dance performances and workshops.

Additionally, the Dance Residency helps attract prospective students and affords UB dance majors the opportunity to take part in master classes with international professional artists.

This program allows the Center to give back to the community while helping UB’s Theatre & Dance Department provide its students with amazing experiences and connections in the performing arts.

Tickets for the performance are $26.50 for adults and $11.50 for students and children. All proceeds from the show will benefit the spring 2013 dance residency at UB Center for the Arts.

The following alumni are scheduled to appear in the show:
Michael Peter Deeb (Broadway National Tour of Young Frankenstein)
Amy VanKirk (Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines)
Nicole Calabrese (Spirit Productions)
Claire Jacob-Zysman (Ellen Sinopoli Dance)
Gina Pero (Rockettes)
Sara Senecal (Ellen Sinopoli Dance)
Katie Heintz (Houston Metropolitan Dance Company)
Sarah Jean Kaye - (Celebrity Cruise Lines (aerialist))
Zodiaque Dance Company (performing “Hearth” choreographed by Jon Lehrer)
