Nik Wallenda wasn’t the only guy high over Niagara Falls this weekend. Pop heartthrob Justin Bieber and girlfriend Selena Gomez flew high above the mist in a private helicopter while in the area for the MuchMusic Video Awards on Sunday.

Bieber made headlines in pop tabloids for a bunch of reasons while in Southern Ontario, of which he is a native. While waiting for Gomez to arrive at Toronto’s Pearson airport, Bieber was swamped by adoring fans. The usually appreciative artist was visibly miffed by the attention, telling fans to respect his privacy and remain patient while he waited for his girlfriend’s arrival. See video below:

The 18-year-old baby-face made up for the bad publicity by appearing on the steps of a Stratford, Ont., theater with guitar in hand. He busked for surprised passersby, leading a full-blown sing-along to his hit song “Baby.”

To escape the shrieking grabby fans, Bieber rented a private helicopter that took him and Gomez around Southern Ontario, including Niagara Falls, People.com reports.

Bieber and Gomez are just two of many celebs to visit Niagara Falls recently. Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes were in town for Gosling’s mother’s graduation from Brock University; Katy Perry did her best Jack Dawson impersonation on the Maid of the Mist; and daredevil Nik Wallenda walked a tightrope over the falls on Friday.
