Emerging Leaders like to get down: It’s the Big-Ass ELAB party

Artists spend hours concentrating, mulling over ideas and stressing over small yet crucial details.  At the end of the day, though, all that harbored anxiety must be released (or they’ll undoubtedly go crazy).  Beware a stressed artist.

ELAB, Emerging Leaders in the Arts Buffalo, will hold a fundraiser party on Saturday night from 8 p.m. until 1 a.m. at A.J. Fries’ studio at 701 Seneca Street (7th floor).  This networking group comprises various artistic disciplines and meets regularly to share ideas in formal settings, like workshops and critiques, and informal outings, like this “big ass” party.  The February ELAB party was such a hit that over 90 people have clicked “attending” on Facebook for this weekend’s sequel.

The Facebook event claims that food and drinks are complimentary, which is glorious news, since “beer, snacks and drinks” will all be available.  A $5 donation—or more, of course—is suggested for guests, and other perks like freestyle group mural painting (you don’t see that every day), music/karaoke, and—get this—Nintendo and Super Nintendo are included.  If you’ve been dying to dust off your world-renowned Duck Hunt skills, here’s your chance.
