No need to drain your car battery for this drive-in—well, ride-in, to be more accurate.

The Wheel-to-Reel Summer Film Series begins Wednesday night. Simply bike to the park hosting the film, kick the kickstand into place, and enjoy a classic family-friendly summer film with neighbors from the City of Good Neighbors.

And what better way to get a bike-centered film event started than with “Pee-wee’s Big Adventure”?

The free Wednesday night series, sponsored by GO Bike Buffalo, Squeaky Wheel and Merge, starts at 9 p.m. and takes place on the following days at either Canalside at the Buffalo waterfront or Days Park in Allentown:

Wednesday – “Pee-wee’s Big Adventure,” Canalside

July 18 – “Super 8,” Days Park

July 25 – “Triplets of Belleville,” Days Park

August 1 – “E.T.,” Canalside

Anyone looking to double up on outdoor film viewing should also take a look at Transit Drive-In’s Retro Tuesday movie lineup. The theater, located at 6655 S. Transit Road in Lockport, is playing “The Goonies,” and “Back to the Future” tonight.

TAGGED: allentown, bicycles, bikes, canalside, outdoor film series, peewee's big adventure, transit drive-in
