Block off the street: Queen City Cartel presents Field Day

A party becomes a lot cooler when a street’s blocked off. Is there a greater example of urban freedom than standing in the middle of Allen Street, basking in the sun in preparation for a packed evening of electronic dance music?

At Queen City Cartel’s Field Day, which invades Allen Street between College and Wadsworth streets from 2 to 10 p.m. Saturday, offers a hybrid indoor/outdoor party that shines the spotlight on three venues: Duke’s Bohemian Grove Bar, the Bend and Sample Restaurant. Allen Street reopens for traffic at 10 p.m., but the party, to no one’s surprise, will continue until 4 a.m.. Primary sponsors are vitaminwater and New Era Cap.

Tickets are available for $20 online here, but also in person at Fuse Salon, 849 Elmwood Ave., and Headspace, 67 Elmwood Ave.

QCC and co-founder Steve Rittner have brought their A-game in planning this evening, as nationally-acclaimed musical acts like Munchi, David Heartbreak, Jon Kwest, Cobra Krames and Sines join 30 local DJs in spinning every variation imaginable of electronic dance music.
