Buffalo Hill bonanza: Jam in the Valley

Don’t think for a second that “JiTV” stands for another niche television network. Jam in the Valley, a signature Western New York event that draws country music fans far and wide for a two-day extravaganza, runs this weekend on Buffalo Hill.

Forty minutes from Buffalo’s metro area, the Varysburg campsite draws a near-elite country lineup each year. Miranda Lambert (9 p.m.) and Jerrod Niemann (7 p.m.) front Friday’s lineup, while Saturday’s gigs include Justin Moore (7 p.m.) and Lynyrd Skynyrd (9 p.m.). The party begins much earlier, however, as gates open at 3:15 p.m. Friday and 2:30 p.m. Saturday, and concert-goers are encouraged to bring their campers or RVs and stay for the entire weekend.

Saturday concludes with a highly-touted fireworks display, which JiTV boasts as “WNY’S BEST FIREWORKS DISPLAY” in overwhelming capital letters.
