Laugh until it hurts the next two weekends. Buffalo Laugh-Off, a veritable who’s who of local comics, is closing in on the finals, and you can help decide on the funniest Buffalonian in the lot.

This weekend and next, join a solid lineup of local comics who will do six minutes of material each. These semifinalists are fighting to be the funniest in order to make it to the final round to be held Jan. 9 at Helium Comedy Club, 30 Mississippi St. in Buffalo, set to open later this month.

“There are plenty of people in this competition that are going to make a career out of this, so it’s a great oppurtunity for the community to come out and see them now so they can say ‘I remember when’,” said Laugh-Off co-organizer Louis Gee.

The judges’ votes will account for 75 percent of the comics’ scores, and audience members’s combined vote will count for 25 percent of the comics’ final scores.
