Here it is:
Enjoyable things about this video:
1.) The knowledge that the members of The Spin Wires—Tyson Prince (guitar/vocals), RJ Porter (bass/vocals) and Joe Grasso (drums)—are students at the University at Buffalo School of Law. If trouble finds you, call The Spin Wires!
2.) The unrepentant muscle-pumping and flexing. Ain’t no shame in firing up those guns, gentlemen.
3.) Reading lyrics off of a plate during the recording. Here is every word to the song:
I got this feeling on the summer day when you were gone.
I crashed my car into the bridge. I watched, I let it burn.
I threw your sh*t into a bag and pushed it down the stairs.
I crashed my car into the bridge.
I don’t care, I love it. I don’t care.
You’re on a different road, I’m in the milky way
You want me down on earth, but I am up in space
You’re so damn hard to please, we gotta kill this switch
You’re from the 70’s, but I’m a 90’s b*tch
Rinse and repeat. These guys can explain the principles of habeas corpus to you, but have a hard time remembering THAT. Interesting.
4.) The Screaming Jeans sticker on Porter’s bass.
5.) Prince’s dance moves, which are both stilted and sincere. Oh, how I can relate.
The cover song was picked up by BroBible.com—home to over 1.4 million unique visitors, according to Quantcast.com— noting that the band “take(s) Icona Pop’s dance jam and completely decimate it in the best way possible.” Law blog Above The Law also shared the video, explaining that “The Spin Wires turn the electro house number into an Offspring like rock song.” The vocals do sound a little Dexter Holland-ish in the opening lyric.
According to SpinWires.com, the band has an EP slated for release this summer and will play live on June 20 at Allentown Music (1113 Elmwood Ave., Buffalo) and June 22 at Nietzsche’s (248 Allen St., Buffalo).
