Buffalo Maritime Festival promises a grand time

This weekend, Buffalonians will get a rare opportunity to celebrate the Queen City’s rich nautical history at the Buffalo Maritime Festival.
Festivities will kick off at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday with the grand arrival of two majestic ships coming to dock for the weekend at Canalside—the Lynx and Peacemaker. These tall ships will serve as the centerpiece for the weekend with tours and hand-on demonstrations taking place on them through Sunday.
In addition to the ships, a whole lineup of entertainment, events and activities are also planned for downtown Buffalo including rowboat rentals, music, walking tours, reenactments, food trucks, fireworks and even a beer garden presented by Liberty Hound.
