In honor of the Central Terminal’s 82nd anniversary of when the first train departed from the station in 1929, the Central Terminal Restoration Corporation is hosting Deco-Fest 2011: To Celebrate the Swing & Style of the Central Terminal on Friday night. All proceeds from this event will be put towards restoring one of Buffalo’s most impressive pieces of architecture.

Deco-Fest 2011 will feature multi-platinum national recording artists, The Cherry Poppin’ Daddies, and also opening acts by Blue Ribbon Bastards, The Royal Crowns and Krypton 88.  Other activities keeping in theme with the art-deco style are incorporated as well.  Kelly “Kelvis” Welsted, a professional model from Retro Lovely, a magazine for enthusiasts of high-end pin-up photography, will be hosting a meet & greet with exclusive photos taken for this event. Take the chance to BECOME a pin-up model as Scarlet Noir Photographic offers a variety of photo shoot packages. Swing dance lessons will be available so you can dance to the music in style. The event is at the Central Terminal, 495 Paderewski Drive Buffalo, 14212. The doors open at 5 p.m. and tickets are available $15 pre-sale or $20 at the door for anyone ages 18 and over. Come show your support and be a part of restoring the Buffalo Central Terminal to all its 1920s’ grandeur!
