Don’t panic: Circa Survive still on for tonight

blog by Ben Tsujimoto  •

After Walk Off the Earth was forced to postpone its Buffalo show due to a scheduling conflict—and Circa Survive postponed its Michigan gig four days ago because of lead singer Anthony Green cracked a rib—local music fans were concerned that their luck was running dry.

Fortunately, Circa Survive completed its show in Cleveland last night, and all systems are raring to go for its 6 p.m. show tonight at Town Ballroom. Day-of tickets are $23 and can be purchased online here or at the door. A bevy of openers—Touche Amore, Balance and Composure, and O’Brother—are also on the docket for this After Dark Entertainment show.

Circa Survive, a progressive rock band hailing from just outside Philadelphia, blends complex-but-well-executed electric guitar parts with Green’s one-of-a-kind vocals. Listen for yourself:

The Medill School at Northwestern University just released a video that highlighted the health risks that bands take on through touring. Coincidentally, Green then cracked a rib on his current tour—can’t fault Circa Survive for not playing through pain. It can’t be too pleasant to sing and dance with a throbbing pain in your side.
