Early jump on St. Patrick’s Day: Live at O’Larkin

blog by Ben Tsujimoto  •

You’ll recall the “Live at Larkin” concert series that filled Larkin Square from June until September, inviting a bevy of local artists to perform free shows in one of Buffalo’s emerging destinations.

From 4:30 until 8 p.m. Friday, Larkin Square will host “Live at O’Larkin” to kick-start St. Patrick’s Day weekend. Admission is free for the evening.

McCarthyizm, Poor Ould Goat, the Clann Na Cara School of Irish Dance and Greater Buffalo Firefighters Pipes and Drums will douse the crowd with Irish-American entertainment, and food vendors like the Filling Station, The Grill and Square 1 Sandwiches will sell Irish-themed goods as well—including Irish coffee, stouts and maybe even some Shepherd’s Pie, if you’re lucky.

We’re almost three months away from the onset of the Live at Larkin series for 2013, as the start date is listed as June 19.

Live at O’Larkin will provide a nice teaser for the rest of the weekend—especially with its festive green hula hoops—but you can help plan the rest of your weekend parade festivities here.
