Free flicks in Hardware’s Backroom

Allentown hangout Hardware Cafe is beloved for many reasons—the food, music and drinks, among them—and now it’s adding a screening room to its features.
The Backroom, which is actually a room in the back of the cafe-bar, was recently renovated so that it can comfortably host movie screenings. The room also doubles as a gallery space.
The Backroom is the venue for the Buffalo Filmmaker Series, which is free to the public. Here are details—courtesy of the Backroom’s Facebook page—on some upcoming movie screenings:
April 27: Comedy “Bravo Sierra,” introduced by director Jason Aupperle. This movie won the Falls Award at the 2010 Buffalo Niagara Film Festival, and you’ll recognize some local bands on the film’s soundtrack.
May 3: Documentary “Tierras Libres,” introduced by director Edward Ellis
May 10: A comedic double feature. “Turning Japanese” and “Waiting For Ophelia” with the producer Christi Allen
