Here’s the deal:
In the Comments section below, post your fondest Goos-related memory.  Maybe you slow-danced to “Iris” or “Name” for the first time with your high-school sweetheart.  Maybe you ran into Robbie at the Music Is Art Festival and he inspired you to start a band or to paint a picture or to be a nicer person.  Maybe Johnny Rzeznik pulled you from a burning car.  Anything!  Just post it below and we’ll pick five random winners of a pair (2) of tickets on Monday at 4 PM and another five random winners on Tuesday - PLUS the winner of the two pavilion seats.

St. Joes dances were the best when the Goo Goo Dolls played. Lots of great memories.

One of my favorite memories was skipping math class to watch them play in the cafeteria at ECC.  I wasn’t that familiar with them at the time, but I became an instant fan!

The googoo dolls were my first concert at the age of 12. My love for them and their music inspired me to go to UB for college and now I am a apart of the buffalo community thanks to their inspiration.

I interviewed Robbie at an acoustic concert at Barnes & Noble once. He wasn’t playing, but someone from his record label was. He was so gracious and well-spoken,and very supportive of local artists and independent businesses. I was a fan before that encounter, but he sealed the deal with his attitude. I’d always rather listen to someone I can get behind personality-wise as well.

We were on the same Oceanic flight when it went down over an isolated island in the south pacific. I was sitting on the beach with Robbie discussing survival techniques and I told him that if we ran out of food, we could share one of my legs. The time came when we ran out of food but instead of eating my leg he slayed a polar bear that was in the jungle… good times..

What could be better than seeing Goo’s and Bon Jovi in one night? Not much!  Too much eye candy all at once, I was on a sugar high for a week!

The Goos were the first concert I ever went to - my aunt knew I loved them so she surprised me with two plane tickets to fly down and see them play in Virginia Beach. I was 13 (awe).

Growing up a Goos fan, I was pumped when I was given the opportunity to baby sit their Boston Terrier, Penny. All I ever wanted was a dog at that age, & due to my cousin being a friend of Robbie’s, I got the opportunity to watch their awesome ( a bit crazy) dog & meet Robbie, who hooked me up with a poster signed by the group.  Still got it!

In 1989 the Goos played the ECC South cafeteria for @ 2-3 hours during lunchtime. They showed up in bathrobes, grilled some pancakes (which they started to throw at the audience), and eventually had power turned off to them because they were too loud. Johnny then did some acoustic songs before power was restored. But they never became louder than the lunch lady who would yell out pickup orders over the volume of their show. My fave Goos show ever!!

Honestly, one of my best Goo Goo Dolls memories, happened when I was 16.  They had a new CD out (Dizzy Up the Girl), around spring/Easter time.  I wanted the CD really badly but had to save up for it.  As a surprise my mom bought the CD for me as an Easter present.  It caught me totally off guard, and I couldn’t have been happier that Easter!

Since I was 12, I’ve loved the Goo Goo Dolls! My favorite concert of theirs was at a small venue on Hampton Beach (New Hampshire). I never thought I’d one day be living in their hometown!

July 4, 2004 - Seems like only yesterday I was standing in the second row singing along at the top of my lungs as the rain poured down. Such an amazing experience to be part of. The Goos were on their A game all night long despite the torrential downpour—that was beyond impressive . “Iris” was made to be played in that rain—such an epic performance. Chills down my spine just thinking about it. July 4, 2004 will ALWAYS be my favorite 4th of July. July 4, 2004 is why I will ALWAYS love Buffalo. July 4, 2004 is why I will ALWAYS love the Goo Goo Dolls.
