Goo Goo Dolls release new fall tour dates

blog by Ben Tsujimoto • October 03, 2011 @ 9:42am
The Goos are relentless on the touring circuit. The band released its fall show schedule this morning, and while Buffalo isn’t on the list, Ithaca (Oct. 19), Utica (Oct. 21), Williamsport, PA (Oct. 25) and Erie, PA (Nov. 13) are less than a tank of gas away. And hey, we can’t get too greedy, as the Goo Goo Dolls have been faithful to their hometown following.

The band has a little extra momentum heading into its east coast swing. If you see a few of our pals from across the pond at one of the above shows, don’t act too surprised. “Iris,” probably the Goos’ most recognizable hit, was performed on the British edition of The X Factor and has vaulted to the top of the U.K.‘s iTunes chart (no, it’s not that England is THAT far behind the times). Talk about a timeless hit—“Iris” was released 13 years ago. Quickly sing “I just want you to know who I am” in your best English accent.
Rzeznik, Takac and Malinin also have a newly-recorded song, “The Best of Me,” set to appear on the CBS TV show Hawaii Five-0. If you’re more interested in buying the soundtrack than watching the show, it will be released tomorrow in stores and online.
