Horror movie being filmed in Buffalo

Celebrated horror film actress-turned-director Debbie Rochon selected Buffalo as the backdrop for her latest frightening feature.

“Model Hunger,” filmed primarily in Buffalo this month, “depicts what can happen when the (modeling) industry pushes one woman too far and the horrifying domino effect that hacks, grinds, and amputates the unlucky women crossing her path,” according to the film’s Facebook page.

Visit Buffalo Niagara reported that shooting around the Queen City began July 10.

Earlier this month, WKBW reported that scenes for the film were being shot in McCarthy Park off East Amherst Street in Buffalo. Rochon’s cast and crew comprise professionals from all over, including locals.

“We have a lot of talent from Buffalo in addition to those flying in,” Rochon told WKBW.

Buffalo resident Greg Lamberson is the producer of “Model Hunger.” His feature film “Slime City Massacre” was shot in Buffalo back in 2009, which influenced Rochon’s decision to film “Model Hunger” in Buffalo, according to Visit Buffalo Niagara.
