Western New York may not be the “rooftop top of the world,” but it is the next destination for touring pop sensations Hot Chelle Rae.
The four-piece pop band, riding the momentum of hit single “Tonight Tonight,” is no stranger to the fair circuit, and Hot Chelle Rae’s tour with All-Star Weekend continues at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Erie County Fair’s Buffalo.com Grandstand. Tickets are $35 for the infield and $20 for the grandstand seats, and they can be purchased here.
The Bend Bulletin’s (Ore.) Rachael Rees spoke with drummer Jamie Follese about the band’s predilection toward fairs and the amusements that accompany the oft-rural festivals.
When you do enough fairs, you can only ride so many Ferris wheels. I’ve definitely eaten my share of horrible food, and I’m sure in Redmond I’m going to do the same. I don’t know if you’ve heard of fried Oreos or Twinkies, but no joke: If you eat one of those, you’re on the fast track to a heart attack, but it’s too good to even care.
Will Follese and co. sample the deep-fried butter and deep-fried Kool-Aid?
The band continues to tour in support of fall 2011 album Whatever, which housed “Tonight Tonight” and earned the band the American Music Awards’ Sprint New Artist of the Year.
