I will always love Lucy

Life Magazine

blog by S.J. Velasquez  •

Lucille Ball’s fiery red hair and fiery personality made her famous, and America fell in love with the iconic comic who was born and raised (for most of her childhood, anyway) in Jamestown, N.Y., 100 years ago.

Ball was born Aug. 6, 1911 in Jamestown and hopped around the nation as a toddler before her family eventually settled back in Western New York. Celebrate Lucy’s legacy this weekend at the Lucy-Desi Center in Jamestown.

Life dug out some never-before-printed photos of Lucy in her pre-stardom days, and Buzzfeed pulled together a beautiful selection of Lucy pictures.
