IndieSound preview: get thee to Allentown tonight

blog by Ben Kirst • August 11, 2012 @ 4:00pm
What is IndieSound? It’s a concert-that-is-more-than-a-concert slated for Saturday, Sept. 29 in Black Rock. Produced by Buffalo First!, the event will feature several local bands in an interconnected series of restaurants, bars and stores in one of the city’s most historic—and rejuvenated—neighborhoods. So yes, that is something that is pretty easy to get behind—supporting local music, local business, etc. We’re all in favor of that, I hope.
Get an early jump on IndieSound tonight when Nietzche’s (248 Allen St., Buffalo) and Duke’s Bohemian Grove Bar (253 Allen St., Buffalo) host a special series of performances as the brains and brawn behind the IndieSound project unveil details about the upcoming event. Like a burlesque dancer slowly revealing key information piece by piece, you’ll be able to soak in the latest IndieSound details while enjoying musical performances by the likes of Katie Panfil, Andrew J. Riemers, The Albrights, The Grace Stumberg Band, Scorched Earthlings and a whole lot of other scene artists here in the mighty city of Buffalo.
The event begins at the early hour of 6:30 p.m. at Duke’s, and the party will eventually hop over to Nietzsche’s. Lucky for you, they are across the street from each other, so no worries about missing the kickoff—you’ll be able to wander into whatever is going on. Check it out if you get a chance. The cover at Nietzsche’s is going to be $5 beginning at 9:30 p.m., for the budget-conscious out there. Worth checking out.
