The Italian Heritage Festival, sponsored by Sorrento Cheese continues this weekend through Sunday with great events, entertainment and food for attendees. According to the website,

Our festa will be like no other as many new events, demonstrations, and double the entertainment will be featured as we return to our Italian roots dedicating this year to “La Famiglia.” Cultural demonstrations including Tarantella Italian street dancers, grape stomping contests, Sicilian puppet shows are just a few of the new additions to our special events and entertainment line-up.

The Frankie Scinta stage will be hosting some great musical talents including Louis Prima Jr., Beatle Magic, Junction West Band and Mr. Scinta himself. Additionally, festival go-ers can stop by the Italian Idol competition, kids cannoli contest, a sauce off, Miss Italian festival pageant and bocce tournament.

Above all else, if you go to the Italian Festival, go for the food. Here is the Sorrento cooking demonstrations schedule for those looking to check out some great Italian dishes.

The festival will run from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Sunday on Hertel Avenue.
