You may know her from American Idol fame, but most recently Katharine McPhee had been belting it out on Steven Spielberg’s NBC show “Smash.”
Now the starlet is coming to the Queen City in November for a benefit concert to raise money for the Ronald McDonald House of Buffalo, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year.
Since opening its doors to families of seriously ill or injured children, the Ronald McDonald House of Buffalo has provided comfortable, affordable lodging for 18,000 families from Western New York and around the world. The Ronald McDonald House is a family’s “home-away-from-home” when their child requires specialized medical care at a Buffalo hospital.
The concert will take place at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday (Nov. 24) at the UB Center for the Arts. Tickets for the show go on sale this Friday at 10 a.m. and are priced at $77, $62 and $47. For more information on tickets, head over to the CFA website here.
“Shortly following her rise to fame as the runner-up on Season 5 of American Idol, McPhee’s self-titled debut album exploded on the Billboard 200. It was also the best chart debut for a female artist during that period in two years.
In addition to her acting and singing career, Katharine is a passionate philanthropist and currently is the celebrity ambassador for Malaria No More,” according to the UB Center for the Arts.
