‘Link up’ at Statler City’s singles party

Although the title may lead you to believe otherwise, the first Statler City Singles Party, presented by STAR 102.5, is part solo mixer and part “awesome giveaway night.”
The gathering isn’t scheduled until Feb. 22, but tickets are available right now. The event as a whole runs from 6 to 10 p.m. at Statler City, 107 Delaware Ave, Buffalo, and pre-sale tickets—which can be purchased here—are only $15. Tickets at the door jump up to $25.
It’s okay if you’re a little skeptical about singles mixers—you may come away with an awesome prize for being a little daring. The grand prize is a trip for two to Las Vegas, which, while certainly bold, would be quite the way to impress a person you just met. In other words, if you do win the trip to Sin City, expect to be smothered by the opposite gender as you leave, perhaps carried off on a chariot to your vehicle or taxi. I hear you can even get married in Las Vegas!
You must be present at the party between 9:30 and 10 p.m. to collect the grand prize, so start brainstorming or refining your pickup lines, seductive glances or “Bernie” (see video at bottom if you’re a little perplexed).
The prizes don’t end there—Buffalo Sabres tickets, a dinner for two at Buffalo Chophouse and a chance to slow dance with STAR 102.5’s Rob Lucas (one of these three is made up, of course)—and even the more mundane opportunities like free parking, delicious finger-foods and a chance to meet A & E’s professional matchmaker Patty Nowak are rather thrilling.
Everyone who purchases a ticket receives a $25 gift certificate to the Buffalo Chophouse, and although this will presumably only get you a small garden salad, it’s still worth $10 more than you paid for a pre-sale ticket.
