Mad Dukez drops free online EP

In an underground scene that’s difficult to crack, Buffalo rapper Mad Dukez is doing all he can for exposure, trying to create a surge of momentum prior to the launch of his first album.
The rapper, who also fronts Type Relevant, released a free 11-song online album—#MadWork—available here. Released as a preview of his debut full-length album—“Get Gatsby’d”, a collaboration with Toronto producer Fresh Kils—#MadWork offers a smattering of different styles and beats, and it’s independent of any label or single producer.
“With this record, it was all me: finding tracks, recording vocals, coming up with concepts and artwork. And I did this all while fulfilling other commitments with the label, like writing and recording “Gettin’ Gatsby’d” at the same time,” Dukez said. Deep Thinka Records will be the label that the debut album will be released on.
Dukez is clever, too, using his tracks as the background tracks for several locally-shot YouTube videos. Here’s a clip of pork burrito creation at Lloyd Taco Truck, shot to the tune of Mad Dukez’ “Glutton.”
Will Mad Dukez’ hard work from producing a free album serve him well?
