Medaille students take ‘cramming’ to a new level - VIDEO

blog by Kathryn Przybyla  •

They did it!

Wednesday afternoon, members of the senior class attempted to break last year’s record of 19 students and squeezed themselves into the Medaille Bug.

With a time limit of five minutes, a state record of 21 people crammed into the vehicle. All participating individuals volunteered and had to be at least five feet tall.

The current, official Guinness World Record for “stuffing” people into a new VW Beetle occurred on April 29, 2000 in Kremser, Austria with 25 people. An unofficial record was set by Penn State Abington in 2001 with 27 students. Medaille students came close to that, but did beat the New York State record.

Here is a look at the entire attempt to cram 21 students into the Medaille. Check it out.
