If you ever wanted to catch a rock-opera, this is the show.

At 10 a.m. this Friday, tickets go on sale for the emotionally charged Broadway show “American Idiot,” which will be playing at the UB Center for the Arts on September 8 and 9.

Ticket pricing is as follows:
$25 - rear balcony (students)
$45 - mid-balcony
$55 - rear orchestra/loge
$65 - front orchestra

According to the website,

“American Idiot” is the story of three boyhood friends, each searching for meaning in a post 9-11 world. Through incredible spectacle, thrilling performances and with the hope embodied by a new generation, “American Idiot” has given Broadway audiences the time of their lives night after night since its Broadway run at the St. James Theatre and its subsequent national tour, which launched December 2011 in Toronto.

The musical features the hits “Boulevard of Broken Dreams,” “21 Guns,” “Wake Me Up When September Ends,” “Holiday” and the blockbuster title track “American Idiot” from Green Day’s 2004 Grammy Award-winning, multi-platinum album. Also included in the score are several songs from Green Day’s 2009 release “21st Century Breakdown,” and an unreleased love song, “When It’s Time.”

Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. for this show. You can purchase tickets in person at the UB Center for the Arts or online through Ticketmaster.
