Old Home Days kicks off in Williamsville - PHOTOS

blog by Kathryn Przybyla • July 11, 2012 @ 11:24am
One of the biggest summer events in the ‘burbs, Old Home Days is a highly anticipated carnival, reunion and get-together event for Amherst natives.
Kicking off this past Tuesday, the festivities will continue through Friday night with a children’s fishing derby also taking place on Saturday morning.
Held at Island Park in Williamsville, kids, teens, families and adults cross the bridge to a park filled with carnival lights, local foods and of course, a beer tent. Having grown up in Amherst, Old Home Days is the summer event to see and be seen at for every middle school and high school student. While youngsters fill the park, high school reunions take place for the three Williamsville high schools, North, South and East.
All week, Main street in the Village of Williamsville is crowded with patrons catching up with old friends and sharing stories at The Irishman, Creekview Restaurant and Sorrentinos all night. If you haven’t ever been, Old Home Days is a great event to check out this week with lots of food and entertainment, especially with Glen Falls right across the street.
Check the schedule of events below:
Wednesday—events taking place 11 a.m to 11 p.m.
Thursday—events taking place 10:30 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Friday—events taking place 12 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Saturday—Fishing Derby 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
