Orchard Park girl wows “X Factor” judges

blog by S.J. Velasquez  •

Caitlin Koch walked on stage and stood before some of the move notorious talent judges in the world. She introduced herself as a rugby coach and player from Buffalo, and told them she’d be singing her own rendition of The Supremes’ “Stop in the Name of Love,” and proceeded to wow Paula Abdul, Simon Cowell, L.A. Reid and Nicole Scherzinger with her mellow, soulful voice.

“You took it down somewhere else,” Cowell said when she stopped singing. “You did something with the song that I’ve never heard before, and that’s what I like about you. No more rugby.”

“It would be an honor for me to work with you in this competition,” Scherzinger said.

Here in Buffalo, Koch is getting the recognition she deserves, but even the global gossip scene has jumped on the Koch bandwagon. Perez Hilton excitedly blogged about Koch’s performance on “X Factor,” and OK! Magazine said the singer brought her “A-game.”

Check out Koch’s audition below, and keep your eyes on Buffalo.com. We’ll be following our little O.P. princess on her “X Factor” journey.
