It’s official—Hot Chelle Rae is coming to the Erie County Fair this summer.

On Saturday, Aug. 11, the band behind “Tonight, Tonight,” one of 2011’s most unforgettable songs—literally unforgettable, that track gets stuck in your head like an iPod gorilla-glued on repeat—will grace the Buffalo.com Grandstand.

Hot Chelle Rae, a four-piece pop-punk group from Nashville, was named Sprint New Artist of the Year at the 2011 American Music Awards. The band, named for a former MySpace stalker, comes from solid musical stock—guitarist Nash Overstreet is the son of country hit-maker Paul Overstreet and brother of actor Chord Overstreet, brothers Ryan (vocals) and Jamie (drums) Follese are the sons of former Songwriter of the Year Keith Follese and bassist Ian Keaggy is the son of Christian singer/songwriter Phil Keaggy.

It’s been a nice run for Hot Chelle Rae. The band’s sophomore album, Whatever, was released in November 2011 and peaked at 48 on the Billboard Top 200 chart—but, in a sign of the times, truly reached it’s core audience of tweens and teens online. Whatever climbed to number nine on Billboard’s digital album chart, and the lead single,“Tonight, Tonight,” has collected over 27 million YouTube views.

The follow-up release, “I Like It Like That,” has over 12 million online views and was named Alternative Press’ Guilty Pleasure Song of the Year. The band is currently promoting a third single from Whatever, “Honestly.”
