Lending a hand to Drake this summer on his “Club Paradise” Tour, J. Cole will be standing his own when he stops by Darien Lake on Friday.

Cole (born Jermaine Cole) is a refreshing exception to the quick route for fame and success. The first artist signed to Jay-Z’s new Roc Nation label, Cole made himself notable through a scholarly approach to the game – no small feat considering his Magna Cum Laude distinction upon graduating from St. John’s University.

It’s no secret that making a fan out of hip-hop royalty—Jay-Z in particular—can do wonders for your career. J. Cole has really made an impact on the music community. That was made clear after landing this summer tour with Drake. Good things are to come for this kid.

You can catch J.Cole, along with Drake, Waka Flocka Flame, Meek Mill, 2 Chainz and French Montana at 7 p.m. this Friday at the Darien Lake Performing Arts Center. Tickets are still on sale and can be purchased online through Livenation.
