Queen City Prints unites art, chocolate, fashion to fight cancer

If you’re asked to close your eyes and describe a typical art show, it’s forgivable if you see a host of people milling about silently, slowly nodding their heads in mature appreciation while sipping water and occasionally crunching on almonds. From the looks of it, ArtForms may scribble a new picture in your mind.
Organized by Queen City Prints and founder Chris Reilley, ArtForms will feature the work of 15 local artists in a one-night exhibition at the Buffalo Arts Studio, 2495 Main St., Suite 500, Buffalo. The event will run from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday, and tickets are available for $12 pre-sale and $15 at the door. All proceeds from the event benefit the American Cancer Society.
There’s more than just the work of Buffalo’s underrated artists like Bruce Adams, Christina Laing, Phil Durgan, Chuck Tingley, Michael Mararian, Richard Tomasello, Elizabeth Leader and Joe Bergquist. ArtForms will be emceed by KISS 98.5-FM’s Nicholas Picholas, feature food by Giancarlo’s, include a chocolate tasting from Oh Pour L’Amour Du Chocolat and boast a Holiday Fashion Preview by Tony Walker & Company.
Reilley drew special attention to the live painting by Chuck Tingley during the event—which will be raffled off just before the conclusion of the evening. Hopefully his creation looks something like this pencil and collage of “Where the Wild Things Are,” which looks awfully baller.
