Fresh creativity combined with guidance from seasoned art experts - “Raw” is sure to be an interesting exhibit.

“Raw” will be on display through Sunday, July 3, 2011 at the Albright-Knox Art Gallery in Buffalo.  The exhibit was organized by the 2011 Future Curators team - 14 young artists, art historians, writers and musicians in grades 11 and 12.

Future Curators is an Albright-Knox program that allows students to learn about the behind-the-scenes work of being a curator.  They come weekly after school to work with staff members at the museum to narrow down submissions for exhibits, plan the opening reception, and everything in between.  This year’s team has a broad base, with students from nine different schools, and has been working together since January 2011.

“Raw,” promotes introspection and rejects technology and “the commonplace and the ordinary.”  The works are meant to suggest specific emotional states and recall the time before technology ran amok.
