Red Cross Bash

Come enjoy the Red Cross's annual fundraising party.

blog by Emily Stoll  •

Food, drinks, raffles, auctions, and over 4,000 partiers -  it’s the annual Red Cross Bash on Friday, June 3.  This wildly popular, award-winning event will begin at 8 PM on the grounds of the Red Cross Mansion, 786 Delaware Ave., Buffalo,

There’s music all night - a key part of any party - by DJ Mike Setlock from Signature Entertanment and live music by Lance Diamond.  There’s also plenty to eat - One Eyed Jack’s, Jack Astor’s, Gr8 Pizza, Danny’s Buffalo Cuisine, and others.

Remember to find time for the auction, which “has well over 100 items,” including vacations and wines, according to Red Cross Communications Coordinator Jay Bonafede.  Another little bonus – all the money raised by the Red Cross at the event stays in the area, supporting programs here.

As for ticket sales, there are still some left.  “We’ll sell them basically until they sell out,” Bonafede said.  Don’t count on buying tickets at the door, though - they may be sold out by then, so head over to the Red Cross to buy yours today.  They must be bought at the Red Cross building on Delaware Avenue.

Better yet, buy a ticket for the cash raffle – for $100, you get two general admission tickets, two drinks per person, all-you-can-eat food, and a chance to win $10,000, $5,000, or $2,500.  And new this year, you can be a VIP, starting the party early at 6 p.m. and hanging out in the exclusive tent with more food and complimentary cocktails.

Though there are always bumps in the road planning such a large-scale party, Bonafede, noted that the Red Cross had put on the event long enough to deal with most problems easily.  “There’s always challenges,” Bonafede said.  “The logistics of getting it done, getting sponsors, (and) getting people here,” but the organizers have made it work.
