Top talent: First it’s time to check out Stoic, a Buffalo rapper that has a talent to be reckoned with and deep-seeded roots in the local music game. His musical talents are generational—his father was inducted into the Buffalo Music Hall of Fame in 2011.
Stoic seen some success with his first release in 2006, “Whateva It Takes” hosted by Capone of Capone-N-Noreaga, which sold 5,000 copies and earned him spins on Sirius’ G-Unit Radio. Through his hard work and determination, he has signed a licensing agreement with DJ Skee’s label Skee Music/BDM, allowing his music to be placed in movies, television shows and commercials. He is currently working on a mix-tape with DJ Skee entitled Build Destroy Music Vol. 1and plans to touch down in L.A. this August to continue furthering his career.
You can check out Stoic’s music on his website at LyricsStillMatter.com!
JKeyz is a young, talented, up-and-coming producer from Buffalo who is a part of the production and songwriting team TheUpperClassmen. He’s been producing for three years and received a major break in his career when his music was submitted to Rick Ross’s music label Maybach Music Group. The powers-that-be wanted to hear more and soon after he landed his first placement, JKeyz found himself producing a track for singer Omarion entitled “Let’s Talk” featuring the Boss himself, Rick Ross.
In addition to Omarion and Rick Ross, JKeyz has also worked with Yung Berg, Natasha Mosely and Sammie. He has a lot more music in the works with some major headliners including Jennifer Hudson, Kirko Bangz, Lloyd, Trey Songz and Tyga, so make sure you stay tuned! You can contact him through his Twitter at @ItsKeyzBaby
Checking In: The Taste of Buffalo
Another successful year for the Taste of Buffalo—it’s in the history books as well as another 5 pounds gained for myself! There were many vendors serving up some great food and drinks. We made a stop at the Mr. Bones (893 Jefferson Avenue) booth to check out their HUGE bar-b-qued Turkey Legs! 93.7 WBLK’s DJ Supreme gave them two thumbs up.
