Save the date: Squeaky Wheel’s Peepshow returns

Peepshow 2013: it's going to be a hot mess

blog by Sophie Herrman  •

A wild rumpus takes over the Dnipro Ukranian Center (562 Genesee Street, Buffalo) on Saturday as Squeaky Wheel’s biannual Peepshow makes its fifth appearance in Buffalo.

An extravagant and totally uninhibited artistic fundraiser, Peepshow is a key event for Squeaky Wheel Buffalo Media Resources. The local media co-op dates back to 1985 and supports a number of arts-related causes in Buffalo—including providing aspiring independent film-makers access to low-cost film equipment and editing resources. All money raised from ticket sales will support Squeaky Wheel’s efforts in encouraging the arts in Buffalo.

Hot mess at Squeaky Wheel

Peepshow 2013: Hot Mess will feature bizarre and hilarious activities that are sure to get your blood pumping. We don’t want to give too much away, but a seven-foot-tall live volcano, naughty trivia contests and a ball pit are only a few of the promised attractions at the event. The lineup of artists whose work will be on display is impressive, including such local notables as Brian Milbrand, Nancy Parisi, the Pyromancy Fire Troupe, Fanny Debeau and Cat Sinclair of the Stripteasers and Keith Harrington, among many others. Music will be provided by MC Holly Johnson, ABCDJ, Cinnamon Aluminum, DJ Camburger, DJ Lulu, KooLiE HiGH, Mallwalkers and MJB Corporation.

When not having their minds blown, attendees will also have a chance to bid on artwork and purchase dinner and snacks from a few of the Buffalo food trucks.

What else could this event possibly offer, you ask? Well, by participating in the Hottest Mess Costume Contest, you could go home a winner with a pair of tickets to see Rihanna at the First Niagara Center on March 8.

Tickets are available online for $15 in advance or $20 at the door ($15 at door for students with valid ID). Peepshow is an 18+ only event.
