Lead “Saturday Night Live” writer Seth Meyers is stopping by UB on Feb. 25 for an evening of standup comedy, and tickets go on sale this Friday.

Meyers, anchor of the popular “Weekend Update” segment on SNL, is the current cast member with the most years on the show under his belt, having been around since season 27 (the show’s currently in its 37th season).

The Illinois native made a name for him self in Chicago’s comedy scene. After graduating from Northwestern University, he joined the Boom Chicago sketch-improv comedy group and performed at Chicago’s Improv Olympics, eventually catching the eyes of SNL producers. He was hired, and he worked his way to the lead writer position.

Tickets for the one-night event are $35, and they go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday. Tickets are available through Ticketmaster, at the UB Center for the Arts Box Office or by phone at 1-800-745-3000.
