Soundlab hosts the imaginative Darwin Deez - VIDEO

He puts on a colorful show, but you can’t help but tap your foot to Darwin Deez and his music.
Coming to Buffalo next week, Deez had humble beginnings at first but has worked his way up to an international tour and shows no signs of stopping. Writing and recording his first album in 2007 took a little over two years, with questionable equipment and a lot of heart.
“I didn’t use the word baby in any of the songs. And my main guitar has only four strings. I’ve been writing songs since I was 11, and now that I don’t suck, people are finally taking notice,” he said in a bio from After Dark Entertainment.
This past February, Deez released his latest album “Songs for Imaginative People” and is currently on tour to support the project.
On his site, Deez gives a little insight to his own craft. “Darwin Deez is a band/guy. If you go to a Darwin Deez show, you’ll see me on stage with three other instrumentalists/friends. The music we play is authentic, homegrown, minimal pop/rock that I write from the heart, baby. And it is some kind of catchy,” he says. “We also like to break it down like a fraction to custom mash-ups. What I mean is, we dance on stage between songs. It’s kind of a “thing we do” type thing.”
You can catch Darwin Deez alongside Caged Animals and Nelson Type at 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 28 at Soundlab. Tickets are on sale for $10 in advance, $12 at the door and you can purchase them through After Dark Entertainment.
