The beautiful + talented Colbie Caillat visits UB on Tuesday

Ladies, you had Keith Urban at HSBC Arena earlier this week. Gentlemen, we get Colbie Caillat this week.
The parade of wildly attractive music stars continues through our fair region on Tuesday as Grammy Award-winning singer / songwriter Colbie Caillat visits the University at Buffalo Center for the Arts for a 7:30 p.m. show on Tuesday, Sept. 13 in the Mainstage Theatre. Andy Grammer will open.
Sexist rhetoric aside, Caillat is a great story and a very talented artist. She was discovered on MySpace.com after friends and fans created a substantial buzz behind her homemade recordings, and went on to sell over 2 million copies of her debut album, CoCo.
Caillat is currently touring in support of her third record, All of You, a record that she feels truly reflects her personality and artistry. “These songs still have the bright feeling and California vibe I love,” Calliat recently noted. “They’re also songs that I write from my experiences.”
Know who likes Colbie Caillat? USA Today! The paper claimed that “Colbie Caillat’s third and best album to date finds the singer/songwriter walking on sunshine, and don’t it feel good (ed. note - sweet Belinda Carlisle reference, USA Today). Inspired by a friendship that evolved into love… All of You is a delightful summer tonic, full of buoyant, hopeful tunes that prove positivity needn’t be childish or cloying, even in generous portions.”
Some interesting notes about Colbie: she won her Grammys for her work with Jason Mraz and Taylor Swift. Her second album, Breakthrough, garnered her a pair of Grammy nominations. She opened the 2010 NFL season by singing the National Anthem (try concentrating on football when she’s on the field, gents!) and was Billboard’s 2009 Breakthrough Artist of the Year. Solid resume.
Tickets for the show are $29 and are available at the Center for the Arts Box Office and Ticketmaster.
