Visit Buffalo Niagara showcases Sportsmen’s Tavern in newest video

Buffalo.com was invited to attend a screening of Visit Buffalo Niagara’s Buffalo. For RealTV video featuring Sportsmen’s Tavern. It was impressive to see the amount of energy and number of dedicated people involved in creating the video, and even Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz stopped in to celebrate the video’s release!

Sportsmen’s remains a bit of a hidden gem, but it’s planted in the heart of the Black Rock revival. The bar’s renovations, which will also soon include a second bar upstairs, lend more of a modern feel without sacrificing the “honky-tonkiness” that owner Dwane Hall and his visiting musicians thrive upon. The scheduled musicians for the week are still scribbled on a chalkboard hanging near the bar, so don’t think that Sportsmen’s is no longer homey.

Visit Buffalo Niagara video host Nelson Starr even managed to sneak in the phrase “lame-ass!”
