Aesop Rock's riding the college wave in Buffalo.

blog by BuffaloDotCom  •

So what’s all that noise the kids are listening to these days? Well, at WBNY 91.3-FM—the influential college radio station beaming out of the checkered studio over at Buffalo State (listen live!)—it’s a healthy mix of intellectual doom-rapper Aesop Rock, Brooklyn indie favorites Grizzly Bear and electro-acoustic artist Mark Alan’s spacey Alphanaut project, among other choice nuggets you won’t hear on commercial radio.

Here are the week’s top tracks by airplay at WBNY:

1. Aesop Rock—“ZZZ Top” (last week #6; second week on the chart)

2. Grizzly Bear —“Yet Again” (last week #2; third week on the chart)

3. Alphanaut—“Pretty Chemicals” (highest debut)

4. Emaculent—“Comin’ Up”

5. CookBook—“The Party’s Still Jumpin’” (debut)

6. Sharifah—“Addicted”

7. Amanda Palmer & the Grand Theft Orchestra—“Want It Back”

8. Ben Folds Five—“Do It Anyway”

9. Serengeti—“Greyhound”

10. Imagine Dragons—“Lost Cause” (from Frankenweenie Unleashed) (debut)
