WIth a smooth, Afrobeat style that makes you want to dance, Zongo Junction will be making a stop in Buffalo as part of their upcoming tour.

Based in Brooklyn, the group brings together an 11-piece collaboration of musicians and artists that combine for an incredible sound. With a second album scheduled to release in 2013, Zongo Junction has been busy, embarking on an upcoming 10-stop tour with Canada’s Souljazz Orchestra.

The band has toured extensively throughout the East and West coasts. Highlights include a sold out show at Slim’s in San Francisco, a Monday night residency at Brooklyn Bowl, a main-stage performance at the Bear Creek Music Festival in Florida and a recent performance at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC.

According to their bio,

These days, a Zongo Junction show has as much as two hours of non-stop original music with a piece of each band member etched into every song. No matter what happens, when the music starts, you are going to dance, and there will be 11 musicians forming some of the most explosive sounds around.

It happens that way because the whole band is all in. After they finish, they’re going to tear down their own gear, pack up their bus, and drive themselves to another city to do it again. It doesn’t matter to them that it shouldn’t make sense.
