Advertising Club of Buffalo’s Uber Bowl V at Coles - PHOTOS

by Don Nieman  •

As it turned out, one of the more entertaining aspects of Sunday’s broadcast of the Super Bowl was the advertisements—Seattle won by 35, remember.

And, for the fifth year in a row, the Advertising Club of Buffalo held the Uber Bowl, a gathering of top experts in the Buffalo advertising business to discuss the Super Bowl ads.

The executive panel for this year’s Uber Bowl V consisted of Jordan Hegyi, owner and art director for Riveter Design; Chris King, independent producer-director at CKProductions and co-director and image gatherer at Revolution Pictures; Dan Bartlo, executive vice president at Quinlan; Kimberly Pentheros, art director at Gelia and Advertising Club of Buffalo board of directors, while the host and moderator for the evening was James Kurdziel, local comedian, writer and radio personality on 103.3 The Edge.

The interaction between the panel and the floor was active and not so specifically directed toward which ad was best; rather, what were the messages and the trends projected in the advertisements this year?

At the end of the discussion, Dan Bartlo was awarded the Uber Bowl V trophy for his contributions to the discussion.
