The International Institute of Buffalo's Fundraiser dubbed Buffalo Without Borders was a great success as they packed Asbury Hall at Babeville on Thursday night. The attendees were treated to delicious tastes of food and drink from around the world including food from local businesses Pure Peru, Gatur's Ethiopian Cuisine, Sun Burmese Restaurant, Taste of India, and B. Ferrante's Italian Bakery.
There were also beautiful crafts available from West Side Bazaar as well as Henna designs provided by First Choice Brows. While the food tickled the taste buds, several members of Buffalo's refugee community also provided entertainment including dancing from the United Burma Dance Troupe, a Bhutanese dance performed by Kalpana Tiwari, and a song sung by Iraqi singer Ahmed Al Araby. It was eye opening to witness so many cultures coming together to celebrate Buffalo's refugee community and the efforts of the International Institute of Buffalo. Eva Hassett, IBB Executive Director and host for the evening, and the rest of the team that put on the event did a wonderful job.
