Buffalo.com roadtrips to Notre Dame - PHOTOS

Look, we absolutely adore Buffalo, but sometimes it’s necessary to get away and experience a different area.
When your local college basketball team roams to a historic destination like the University of Notre Dame, you drive the seven hours, jam five people inside a Honda Accord and never look back.
Sure, Canisius fell to Notre Dame, 87-81, in a gripping overtime affair, but hanging out with Touchdown Jesus, indulging in Celtic cuisine and exploring an eerily empty campus provided a well-rounded experience that’s achievable for Western New Yorkers in one weekend.
Joined by Canisius College undergrad admissions counselor Phil Ciallela, Griffs cheerleading alum Alyssa Menickelly and CC alum and soon-to-be Buffalo News desk clerk Nick Veronica, Katie and I breathed in one of the most breathtaking college campuses in America—if not the world (I can attest that it’s on par with Cambridge University in England).
Enjoy the photos and brief captions to see what we experienced and, if you’re the touring type, add it to your list of must visits.
