Idina Menzel and the BPO dazzle the crowd at Kleinhans
by Jeff Noto • September 17, 2011 @ 11:04pm
Memories of elementary school swarmed me as the BPO began to perform. I had childhood aspirations of being a cellist until my cello teacher died of cancer with a concert shortly after. I was the only cellist in the orchestra and when my solo came I was so nervous it slipped out of my hands and off the stage. As the BPO began to play, I had to put my camera down for a moment and was mesmerized by the beauty of the music that I was hearing. I almost felt intrusive with every click of the camera. After a short intermission, Idina Menzel came out in a stunning yellow dress and wowed the crowd with some humor, stories of her career but mostly with her charm, voice and ability to entertain.
