Polar Plunge at Woodlawn Beach - PHOTOS

by Cody Osborne  •

It was a beautiful day to be at Woodlawn Beach State Park on Saturday afternoon (if you consider 40 degrees and cloudy to be beautiful). Over $100,000 was raised this year by our annual Buffalo, NY Polar Plunge. Buffalonians came out in packs to show some support for the Special Olympics of New York by taking a dip in Lake Erie this weekend. People had costumes of all types, body paint of all types, and even swimming gear of all types that they brought with them to the event Saturday.

They also treated this event like most people from Buffalo treat any event; with a whole lot of tailgating prior to the festivities. It was wonderful to see all these people take time and money out of their lives to donate to a special cause like this. Take a peek at our gallery and see if you can find your picture. If we missed you at the event take a look at out cover photo or panorama and try to find yourself that way as well. Another job well done Buffalo, keep up the good work!
