It was a day full of knowledge Tuesday at the Montante Cultural Center on the campus of Canisius College. The popular lecture series, TEDxBuffalo, was held today from the early morning till the afternoon. This was not like any old typical lecture series; it was a day full of entertaining intellectual lectures.
The people who attended this event were inspired from all of the different thoughts and ideas that were discussed throughout the day. This year’s theme was “the World in our Backyard," a notion that sparked discussions and ideas about what we could improve upon in Buffalo and some of our surrounding areas.
Some of the people that spoke at this event included: Alan Friedman, Kevin Gardner, Dr. Jonathan Lawrence, Tom McManus, Joy Kuebler, James D. Roberts, Chris Smith, Geoff Herbert, Mathew Walter, and Adrienne Bermingham. The discussions did not stop after each lecture -- they continued throughout lunch and into the evening. Hopefully these ideas and thoughts will continue to grow within the weeks that follow this event and maybe even spark some kind of positive change within our area.
