City of Night whets appetites with behind-the-scenes glance - VIDEO
Since we relayed the initial event details for Aug. 17’s City of Night event at Silo City, the organizers have been working feverishly to publicize.
Riding a wave of momentum after last year’s successful debut, City of Night has found itself on the cover of Artvoice with a feature article by editor Geoff Kelly. Lead event coordinator Dana Saylor debuted on Winging It! Buffalo Style on Friday morning to describe the event that already has over 700 people committed as “attending” on Facebook. We suspect The Buffalo News has a few tricks up its collective sleeve in the coming days.
As a reminder, City of Night runs from 4 p.m. Aug. 17 to 2 a.m. Aug. 18 at 200 Childs St., and the evening centers around art, history, culture and sustainability—as Saylor elaborates on in the video above. Admission is free.
From progressive food trucks to art installations to Buffalo Harbor Kayak to solar-powered music, City of Night acts as a symbol of Buffalo’s reawakening, a rise from the dormancy that’s painted the Rust Belt city as one of the past rather than one with unlimited potential.
