The Buffalo News gives Margaret Sullivan a ‘New York, New York’ send-off
Vice president and editor Margaret Sullivan's tenure at the Buffalo News concluded Friday after she spent 32 years in several different roles, but the final 13 as editor. Hired to be the New York Times' public editor -- a dream role for Sullivan -- the well-respected local icon will represent her Buffalo roots in the big city soon.
As part of her send-off, the News threw a party on the fantail of the USS Little Rock in the Buffalo and Erie County Naval Park Friday, and select members of the newsroom serenaded her with a specially-tailored rendition of Frank Sinatra's "New York, New York." Video shot by Kat Przybyla.
